Packaging Line Operator

Job Details:

Packaging Line Operators are responsible for packaging all products in a safe and high-quality manner as directed by the Packaging Manager and the Chief Operating Officer. This position is additionally responsible for the daily operation, cleaning and sanitizing of packaging equipment, including the can filler, keg washer/filler and ancillary packaging equipment. No specific packaging line experience is needed—just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure completion of daily packaging tasks including operation and maintenance of equipment;

  • Maintain a high level of output for a 40-hour weekly schedule, depending on production needs, overtime will be required at times;

  • Load raw materials and process aids across production stages;

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area;

  • Prepare hoses, fittings, and clamps as required for production and cleaning operations;

  • Perform production operations, CIP’s, and sanitation practices according to SOP’s set forth by the company;

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on pumps, valves, tanks, and process equipment;

  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of daily warehouse operations;

  • Store and organize finished goods as they are completed on the packaging line, maintaining safety & accessibility;

  • Prepare shipments of finished goods, maintaining proper stock rotation;

  • Load and unload trucks as needed and ensure correct quantities are shipped & received;

  • Keep diligent record of shipments and deliveries, including providing necessary communication to the operations team;

  • Embrace a process of and opportunities for continual improvement;

  • Willingness to fill in other job duties as necessary and perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Preferred experience operating a forklift; loading and unloading trucks is a plus;

  • High School diploma or GED (4 year college degree a plus);

  • Basic computer skills;

  • A basic understanding of laboratory techniques (seam check, DO meter, etc);

  • Proficiency in time management, multi-tasking and detail oriented;

  • Ability to work as a member of a team while maintaining a positive, helpful attitude

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

This job is conducted in a manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes and at times the work areas may be wet where personal protection needs to be worn. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools and controls; to reach with hands and arms; to stand, walk sit stoop or crouch; to talk and to hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and work in tight spaces at times. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Production staff often stand in one place for most of their shift and do repetitive motions. At times the production environment has noise levels which are usually moderate to loud and warehouse temperature fluctuates according to the weather.

Other Information:

Schedule: 40 hours a week, Monday through Thursday, with overtime availability if necessary

Starting wage $19.00/hour

Brewer Cellar Operator

Job Details:

The ideal candidate for this Brewer/Cellar Operator position enjoys all aspects of craft beer - making it, thinking about it, enjoying it, and would like to join a dedicated team of like minded folks. This position is atypical in the brewing world as it rotates through both brewhouse and cellar operations. As such, the position includes both brewing and cellaring tasks in a weekly rotation: grain handling, brewhouse operation, CIP/SIP, yeast handling, centrifuge operation, dry hopping, cleaning and more cleaning. Additional responsibilities include the analysis of various production and quality parameters. The ideal candidate is after continuous improvement and growth within their roles, committed to quality and consistency with our process and beers, and contributes to a clean, safe and team oriented work environment.

In addition to the above responsibilities:

  • Operation and basic maintenance of raw materials handling, Brewhouse operations, Cellar management and Filtration procedures

  • Ability to make critical decisions based on various production and quality parameters

  • Share in all production duties and responsibilities

  • Assess the status of operations and troubleshoot process issues

  • Analysis of various production and quality parameters

  • Ongoing brewery sanitation

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • One to two years of professional experience in brewing, cellar operations, or beverage production is preferred. We welcome candidates from diverse fermentation backgrounds or those with a foundational education in brewing, food science, or laboratory work. 

  • High School diploma or GED (4 year college degree a plus)

  • Strong time management skills, skilled multitasker and an attention to detail

  • This position requires 1st and 2nd shift (rotating) and occasional weekend and overtime work availability as needed

  • Strong organizational, communication, computer and record keeping skills

  • A basic understanding of laboratory techniques (cell counting, DO meter, etc)

  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn

  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to fill in other job duties as necessary

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

This is a physical job. Brewer and Cellar Operators must be able to work on their feet for 8+ hours per day. Regular lifting of 55lb grain bags / 44lb Hop boxes are required daily. Climbing stairs, working in close quarters, manipulating Tri-clamps and dragging hoses several times a day are also commonplace for this role. Operators are occasionally required to lift and maneuver a keg (165lbs)

Schedule: 40 hours a week, M-F, first and second shift with weekend and overtime work availability if necessary

Compensation ranges from $21–$24 per hour, based on experience and upon successful completion of the training period.
